A typical basement finish takes four to eight weeks on site once permits are issued, depending on whether a bathroom and egress window are included.
Do I need a permit to finish my basement in New Jersey?
Yes — creating habitable space requires permits and inspections for framing, electrical, plumbing and HVAC. Your scope will list them so the work is legal and insurable.
What if my basement gets water?
