What Remodeling Network LLC does
Remodeling Network LLC is a home-improvement, remodeling, project-consulting and contractor-referral company serving the State of New Jersey. Depending on the project and the services requested, we may perform work directly, or we may assist the homeowner by developing a scope of work and introducing the homeowner to appropriately licensed and insured contractors within our independent contractor network.
Independent status of referred contractors
All contractors referred by Remodeling Network LLC are independent business entities. No employment, partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship is created between Remodeling Network LLC and any referred contractor. Any contractor you select enters into a separate agreement directly with you, and Remodeling Network LLC is not a party to that construction contract.
No supervision or control of work
Consistent with New Jersey's Home Improvement Practices regulations (N.J.A.C. 13:45A-16.1 et seq.), when a referral is made, Remodeling Network LLC does not perform or supervise the referred contractor's home improvement work, control contractor methods, schedules or hiring, provide project management or oversight, or guarantee code compliance, permits or inspections.
No representations or warranties
Unless specifically stated in a separate written agreement, Remodeling Network LLC does not warrant or guarantee an independent contractor's:
- Craftsmanship or workmanship
- Compliance with New Jersey building codes
- Timelines, pricing or cost estimates
- Licensing or insurance status beyond documents the contractor provides
- Safety procedures or subcontractor selection
Your responsibilities as a New Jersey homeowner
New Jersey law requires a written contract for home improvement work valued at $500 or more. Before hiring any contractor, it is the homeowner's responsibility to:
- Verify the contractor's NJ Home Improvement Contractor registration (required by law)
- Verify the contractor's insurance coverage
- Review all contract terms as required under N.J.A.C. 13:45A-16.2
- Request permit information where applicable
- Confirm references and past work
You alone are responsible for evaluating and selecting any contractor. You are free to select or reject any contractor referred by Remodeling Network LLC, and you are never required to use a contractor from our network.
Compensation disclosure
Remodeling Network LLC may receive compensation, referral fees, advertising fees, marketing fees, consulting fees or commissions from contractors and/or homeowners. The existence of such compensation does not create any obligation on the part of Remodeling Network LLC to guarantee contractor performance.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by New Jersey law, Remodeling Network LLC shall not be liable for any damages, losses, defects, delays, injuries or disputes arising from a referred contractor's performance or failure to perform. All performance-related claims are solely between the homeowner and the hired contractor.
